  1. Also let this be a lesson to Alabama's governor (or mayor) who stated semi drivers don't need to be rescued because they are "resourceful". If you are from Alabama (I am not) and you were around the last "major" storm you know what I am talking about. Nobody is above another for any reason during or after a natural disaster. Shame on Alabama.

  2. i see several comments that the man should have swam to shore, that this all over dramatic reporting. who's to say that the man could swim to shore? everything is power in his truck. after being submerged in water, who's to say that the water logged controls even worked anymore, so that he could open a window and "swim to shore"? why is everyone not happy that a life has been saved? we just heard about another truck driver that died in her truck a year ago because she was trapped under the same conditions, with no reporter around to flag down someone for help. i don't understand the vitriol. when did people lose the compassion gene?

  3. Agree with James.  Brandi "Smith" is a star! and her camera man was good too!  Hope they stay in Houston!! We need them here!

  4. She did a great job "keeping it together" on air even though you could tell she just wanted to break down. Poor thing. Tired, wet, exhausted, station evacuated, on her own, and then sees this man stranded and is at first helpless to do a thing about it. (There's an 11 minute video that is the time period just before this video.) Good job, Brandi. Thanks for sticking around until you were able to find someone to save that trucker. I hope you're able to get some rest soon.
